Update on the update (July 26) from July 25, 2026

We've managed to reconnect and got Starlink back up. So we're back online and, instead of docking at Jan Mayen to carry out the repair, we'll now be heading straight for the Faroe Islands.

We've lost internet connectivity on board. The tracker is still live, but we're currently unable to provide day-to-day footage.

The team is safe and in good spirits.

On the positive side: the weather has improved. We're off the para anchor again and rowing full steam ahead towards Jan Mayen.

Jan Mayen is a 373 km² island located about 550 km northeast of Iceland and roughly 500 km east of Greenland, on the border between the Greenland Sea and the Norwegian Sea. It belongs politically to Norway. Jan Mayen has no permanent population and no native inhabitants. However, the island is home year-round to between 18 and 35 Norwegian researchers, military personnel, and technicians, who operate the weather station and a radio station located there.
