We've reached the 1000 nautical mile mark!
We've broken the 1000 nautical mile mark and have already covered more than half the distance. A huge step on our mission.
Of course, we celebrated with a toast and a delicious orange π.
Unfortunately, we haven't seen the sun for over a week. But oh well, this is ocean rowing at its finest.
We're all doing well and are highly motivated for the next kilometer.
The strong winds of the last few days also had their advantages. With the right gusts, we were able to skillfully surf the waves and reach a top speed of 9.1 knots. That was an incredible feeling!
If all goes well, our next goal will be to leave the Arctic Circle. To our knowledge, no team has ever rowed the entire distance from the edge of the ice at the North Pole to the Arctic Circle using only muscle power. That would be another incredible milestone for the four of us.
Thank you so much for all your support π«ΆπΌ
