While waiting – visit from a polar bear

Yes, we’ll have to be patient for a little while longer, as the weather hasn’t turned out quite as we’d hoped. Out on the open ocean waves are reaching up to 4.5 meters, with gusts over 40 knots. Combined with the cold water temperature and ice blocks in the water, rowing on now would mean too high a risk.

So we’re spending our time out in nature – with varying degrees of enthusiasm from some of the participants😉.

Yesterday we had an incredible experience: we saw a polar bear – very close up. Wow, that was amazing, but also a bit scary!

We’re very confident that we’ll be able to continue our journey in the next few days. But safety comes first.

See you soon – we’ll keep in touch!
